Sexing and Characteristics:Males have darker blue on their bellies and throat with a tint of black out-lining it in some
places.. Their tall is also more broad looking a little after their vent.. Females have sky blue on their throats with a tint
of almost blue-green on their bellies.. Females tails aren’t as broad as the males.. I remember reading somewhere that
their colors go into full effect during mating season because that’s one of the way they attract..
Substrate and Water Needs:supply them with substrates from a pet shop or use paper towels/news paper until .. The pet shops
have all kinds of substrates and I ’believe’ they are all mite/parasite free.. Just check your reptile to make
sure he is.. A water dish is a must Mist cage decorations 3-6 times a day for some
humidity
Lighting and UVB UVA spot light for basking areas and UVB #.0 fluorescent tube lighting for some more UVA and Vitamin D3..
The higher the #.0 the better.. For example, if you get a 10.0 then lizards will be able to absorb the UVA and Vitamin D3
up to twenty inches away from the fluorescent bulb..
Temperatures and Humidity:85-95 degrees during the day.. 95-100 degrees in basking spots.. 75-80 degrees during the night..
Humidity.. No idea.. Mist the cage every morning to support the morning dew effect..
Heating and Equipment Heat rocks are a no-no.. I use a UVA spot light for temp.. It sets the basking spot hot and leaves
areas around it cooler..
Caging Provided 10 gallon for 1 lizard.. 20 gallon for 2 lizards.. Climbing areas and basking areas at different levels
for different basking temps with fake plants to drink off of and areas to get cool..
Description of Diet: Main diet is gut-loaded crickets.. Do not over feed your lizard.. Mine almost died because he ate
more than he could digest at the time.. I thought that he would keep eating until he’s full like we do but I was wrong..
Keep diet at a medium.. Fruit-flies are also a good food source.. Grasshoppers are all right but not delicious because of
their defense mechanism..
Supplements, Nutrition and Usage: Gut-loaded crickets supply a decent amount of vitamins and minerals.. UVB and UVA lighting
is the other supplement.. Needs to be on for a 12 hour shift and off for 12 hours.. Kind of like a sun up, sun down routine..
UVB supplies Vitamin D3 and calcium to fight metabolic bone disease so it’s a must.. It also supplies some UVA which
stimulates activity, appetite, and reproductive behavior.. Basically it keeps them a healthy lizard..
Maintenance: Clean cage every two to three weeks.. Wash water dish every day with mild soap and wash tank decorations with
mild soap when you clean the cage.. Be sure to rinse well with warm water..
